Our crèche is Ofsted registered Registration Number EY408918.
Our crèche is adjoined to all activities, courses and training offered to teen parents, ensuring the well-being of their children allowing full participation of the parents.
Our aim is for all children to enjoy their experiences with us because we know how important the early years are in helping children to become life long learners, to enjoy pre-school and to be happy adults. We aim to meet the outcomes of Every Child Matters.
Most parents bring their newborns to the crèche, enabling a bond to form immediately with staff members at this early stage. These children stay with us until they reach Nursery age.
Older children attending for their first time sometimes have anxiety about mum leaving; mum is encouraged to stay with their child until they feel at ease with their environment. After a few visits the child joins in with their peers and enjoys attendance.
Working across the locality with teen parents children in their early stages allows them to form positive relationships with their peers and adults. They will gain a sense of belonging, positive stimulation through a variety of activities, required responsibility, helpfulness and opportunities for their success and recognition of achievement. They will have the opportunity to take part in spor ts events and engage in leisure activities in safe outdoor areas adjoined to all venues.
This good balance of developed skills is transferable. All of which supports a smooth transition into mainstream Nursery.
Crèche staff guide on themed workshops on residential, involving parents in interactive play with their children. Children choose the activity and parents will be encouraged to positively engage through play with their children with the aim to create family harmony and enhance parent-child relationships.
The children who attend our crèche experience increased confidence in their ability to take par t in group activities and try new things. They become sure of themselves and competent in getting their needs met, whilst showing respect to the needs of others around them.
They form positive relationships with their peers and staff improving social and emotional skills, this allows them to understand guidelines and instructions e.g. sit and listen in story time, sing songs, play instruments and tidy up time, which gives them a sense of responsibility for when they move on to mainstream Nurseries.
All crèche activities enhance the development skills of the children’s individual needs and identify progression routes for them to reach their full potential. Their routines and methods are discussed with parents so they can use this as an educational tool in their own homes.
We have wallboards placed outside the crèche where parents can put their comments; all feedback is addressed at monthly staff meetings.
Quarterly evaluation forms are given to parents for their feedback on the crèche service provision and their child's development. This allows the crèche to continually improve.
When a child leaves our crèche, parents are able to access their child's folder allowing them to pass it on to the Nursery, as evidence of their child's ability. This allows for a smooth continuance of their development.
